Tickets Trekking Rinjani Day 15 Limit Has Started

The interest in hiking Mount Rinjani seems to increase every season, as if it never ends, including those who have climbed before. This has resulted in a limit to the quota of Rinjani trekking tickets, according to one of the Trekking Organizers and owner of Bas Rinjani Trekking company from Senaru, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.

The limit to the quota of Rinjani trekking tickets started to be felt on the 15th day on Sunday, April 16, 2023, since the beginning of the Rinjani trekking activities on April 1, 2023. This situation has been complained by many hikers, especially Trekking Organizers who have long taken reservations from their customers in Senaru and Sembalun.

In response to the limit to the quota of Rinjani trekking tickets, Trekking Organizers had a meeting and coordination with the management of Rinjani National Park to get additional quota.

It is known that the quota for Trekking Organizer for Rinjani trekking tickets is only 150 people per day, while for the general public, there are only 50 people per day.

From the meeting held on April 15, 2023, in Senaru Village, the Chairman of the Senaru Trekking Organizer Association, Munawir, could not yet be asked for a statement regarding the results of the meeting.

Nevertheless, most of the Trekking Organizers in Senaru and Sembalun hope for an increase in the quota to accommodate the high interest of Rinjani hikers who use Trekking Organizer services.

Even at the beginning of the season, the quota has started to be limited for hikers, especially in the upcoming months which are generally the high season for climbing Rinjani, namely in May, June, July, and the peak in August 2023, according to Bas.

This problem is not only happening this climbing season, but it has also happened in previous years, especially after the Lombok earthquake in 2018 and after the Covid-19 pandemic last year. Perhaps this is the main reason why the interest in climbing Mount Rinjani continues to increase every year.”
